Day 1: Delhi (Wednesday, train Departure)

Your Journey on ‘Palace on Wheels’ train begins from Safdarjung Railway Station around 1830 hrs. Before boarding you will go through check-in related formalities and savor the traditional Indian hospitality with tika, turban and garland offered by staff. Then after an attendant will escort you to a booked luxurious saloon.

The journey will commence around 6:30 in the evening time
When train moves towards enthralling destination of Jaipur you would enjoy satiating dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Jaipur (Thursday)

Jaipur, India’s first planned city was commissioned by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II as his new capital. Built on the principle of Vastu Shastra, this city is considered auspicious for performing religious ceremonies.

On arrival you would be taken to Amber fort, the former capital of Kachawa Rajput rulers. Fort is built on hilltop of Aravalli range and projects the panoramic view of Maota Lake and Jaipur city. Here you would enjoy elephant ride from base of the fill to fort.

Other excursions include City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar – Mantar. During the evening time enjoy shopping around City Street. Return back to train and enjoy lavish dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ranthambhore (Friday)

Early in the morning after breakfast leave for sightseeing spree of Ranthambhore, India’s one of the largest wildlife sanctuary and Tiger Reserve. Besides, providing safe heaven for royal Bengal tigers, this protected natural habitat is roamed by sambar, sloth bear, chital, nilgai, dhole, leopard and several other species.

Explore the wilderness of Ranthambhore then leave for next destination of Chittorgarh Fort. Chittorgarh Fort is guarded by second longest wall of world after the Great Wall of China. The fort once lived by Rani Padmini has now converted into a tourist attraction. In the evening time enjoy breathtaking Sound & Light Show.

Dinner and overnight stay in lavish train.

Day 4: Udaipur (Saturday)

Welcome to the Lake city of India ‘Udaipur’. Also known by other names such as ‘Venice of East’ and ‘Kashmir of Rajasthan’, this spectacularly serene city stands on the uplifted platform of Aravalli range.

Post breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Udaipur city. Visit Pratap Memorial and other attractions like Jagdish Temple, Bhartia Lok Kala Mandir, Sahelion Ki Bari and City Palace Museum. Make Lake Pichola your evening destination, watch the beautiful sunset and enjoy boating on Lake Pichola.

Return to train for gala dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Jaisalmer (Sunday)

Jaisalmer, the ‘Golden City’ of India lies on the edge of inhospitable Thar Desert. The fort in which city is thriving is built of yellow sandstone during the 12th century.

Discover the widespread vistas of fort which include palaces, temples and rare handicrafts then leave towards a famous tourist spot of Sam Sand Dune.

Sam Sand Dune lies on the outskirts of city, approx. 42 Kms far. On arrival you can witness the ever-changing colors and dunes of desert like a chameleon.

Take a tour of limitless Thar Desert via sitting on bedecked camel.
In the late evening drive pleasure in folk dance and music performed by local artists over dinner and enjoy bonefire.

Day 6: Jodhpur (Monday)

On the sixth day of tour train will stop at Jodhpur. Call it ‘Blue City’ or ‘Sun City’, this magnificent town always appears to be surrounded by bright blue effervescence. Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha who was a ruler of Mewar.

Explore the attractions of Mehrangarh Fort like palaces, Havelis, and temples then head towards Jaswant Thada, a 19th century architecture built in the memory of royalty.
Come back to train for sumptuous dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Bharatpur & Agra (Monday)

Early in the morning pay visit to Bharatpur Bird sanctuary, a World heritage site offering shelter to more than 366 bird species. Considered as paradise for bird watchers, this sanctuary is also known by two other names Keoladeo National Park or Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Make a way into the jungle of park via cycle rickshaw ride.

After exploration of bird’s habitat the luxurious vehicle ‘Palace on Wheels’ takes you to city of Taj. Visit the Taj Mahal complex, a site which is continuously featured in Seven Wonders of the World and a world heritage site. In the evening time check-out the market and by some souvenirs like miniature of Taj Mahal.

Day 8: Delhi (Wednesday)

Train reaches in Delhi Railway station around 4 AM and checkout formalities would be over by 7 AM.
This marks end of ‘Palace on Wheels Tour’.
